Wilsons Promontory

Hi Guys, I took a long weekend off work this week for my man and I to head down to 'prom country'. Wilsons Promontory is a peninsula that forms the southernmost part of the Aussie mainland. Its basically a huge national park full of nature hikes, an abundance of wildlife and stunning beaches. So whether you're a Melbournite like me, from outer state or an overseas visitor, this is definitely a place to visit. But be warned... Wilsons Prom is enormous.

So here are a few snaps of our adventures.

This place is just beautiful. Tidal Dreaming Seaview Cottages, Its just three cottages perched up on a hill with water views. Nice and quite, besides all the lovely pink galahs around and you'll have fun spotting the bunnies out on the front lawn.

So out first day into the prom we decided to do a 11.5 kilometer hike up and around the mountains. It was a little touch at times but completely worth it. Passing four beautiful beaches and some great views

Our second day into the prom was a little bit more relaxing then the first. We walked the Tidal River track. Most of which is along the river on raised boardwalks lined with friendly lizards bathing themselves in the sun. There are loads of amazing Rock formations along the Prom walking tracks, the one you see above is called Whale Rock.

We did happen to get a rainy day while we were on our weekend away, but to make the most of it we went to Agnes Falls which is hidden within the green rolling hills of the Strzelecki Ranges. Agnes River cascades over rocks into a deep picturesque gorge. At 59 m, Agnes Falls are the highest single span falls in Victoria. After heavy rain the river falls as a spectacular cascade into the gorge.

So a big thank you to my wonderful man for making it an amazing weekend. Loved it!
