Christmas Presents!

I have created these little pieces of artwork for Travis's side of the family.
i did leave the Christmas shopping to the last second, so i thought instead of braving the hectic shopping centers I would whip up some artwork just for them.

Each piece has been printed and finished with sewn detail and cute lil buttons.
I'm actually a little nervous to give them to them all. i hope they like them as much as I do. I'm really happy with how they have turned out.

'Tis the season to get drinking... Fa la la la la, la la, la la!

Some very beautiful and hard working girls deserved a lil something to help celebrate the end of another great year. These mini bottles of Jacobs Creek Sparkling Rose look sooo cute with their little button tags.
Merry Christmas girls. xox

That's the Spirit!

The Christmas spirit is upon us again... Yay!
And I've been doing a bit of a hunt around for Christmas inspiration for my home, so I thought I would post my findings for all to see.

If I don't post again before Christmas, I wish all of you a very cheerful Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.

Alice's Tattoos

You've got to be a hardcore Alice Fan to get her tattooed on you forever.
I'm not quite sure I'm up to it... maybe just a white rabbit!

Pin-Up Perfection!

Pin-up girls or Pin-up Models, made their debut as early as the 1890's, although I'm sure back then it was seen as a very 'Trampish' career choice.

One of the most popular early pin-up girls was Betty Grable, whose poster was ubiquitous in the lockers of G.I.s during World War II.

Betty Grable's world-wide famous 1943 pin-up photo,
that showed off those "million dollar legs."

Today it's used in media all the time from Illustrations to Photos.
Here are some of my favourites...

Curiouser in Wonderland

Introducing my new blog...

I have joined forces with my wonderfully talented friend Heather Peters over at Inkysplatter, to create a blog dedicated to the wonderful Alice who visited Wonderland all those years ago.

We will be sharing our knowledge and any curious bits and pieces we find along the way, such as reviewing Alice books, Movies and cartoons, Craft and of course our own illustrations of Alice's adventure.

Heather and I are two Melbourne Illustrators and Designers with a passion for all things Alice. We met while studying a Diploma of Illustration and bonded over our love of Alice, which has also lead to a joint Alice exhibition that we will be having mid next year.

So if you are curious about all things Alice, then join the teaparty over at Curiouser in Wonderland. We would love to have you. xo

The Hummingbird

Hi All, Hope you have had a fab weekend. I have been doing a bit of a makeover on my house and today I'm showing you a new piece of art that I created especially for my lounge room.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I always find it harder to do artwork for myself, then to create for others. Never the less I'm actually pretty happy with how it has turned out. It looks perfect against my latte colored walls...

I thought it would be a nice touch to fill some of the flowers petals with love letters from 1906.

This piece is full of different textures that I found on the net.
I especially love the turquoise and gold through the hummingbird.

I wanted to incorporate some subtle text into the design, just to pull everything together. Beau Jarden (Beautiful Garden) seemed to fit the piece perfectly.

Hope you like it. xo
